Three Star inches closer to title after they hold title challengers Manang Marsyangdi to a 1 – 1 draw.

Three Star started with a sense of purpose. They started to take the game to MMC, and it paid them with a goal after 15th minute. Three Star Captain Santosh Shahukala hit the ball to the back of the net after some defensive lapse inside the MMC’s D-box. But, a goal down MMC started to get back together and a wave of attacks resulted in the equaliser eight minute after they went down. MMC’s No 99 Fils Sergio Chico headed in the equaliser in the 23rd minute when Three Star Goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong couldn’t collect a long ball.

In the second half, MMC played with a purpose to win. Anil Gurung missed a number of chances to give them lead. But, destiny was on the hand of Three Star who are still five points clear of second placed Manang Marsyandi after the draw.

Three Star's Coach Pradeep Humagain:

“Our player’s worked hard for the result. This was a good result against a team of MMC’s calibre. At this stage a single point is very important as the title challenge draws near. I used to be a fan of MMC but having been associated with Three Star has really changed my love for this club. We are hoping to get result against RCT in the next match and hopefully all the fans will cheer with us in the ground”.

Manang Marsyandi’s Coach Chiring Lopsang:

“We played the game as we wanted. But, the first goal we conceded really put us in back foot. Goalkeeper’s and defenders mistake lead to that goal, but we brilliantly equalised within minutes. We would have wanted to win the game, but no chances could be created. We are mathematically still in title hunt but it’s seems less now with this draw”
