Nepal Army and Macchindra share the spoils after Deepak Rai sees the red.

Macchindra FC lost the chance to equal the point’s tally of MMC as they lost their composure at the back for Nepal Army Club to equalize.

Macchindra FC’s Karna Limbu’s cross was deflected into its own net by Army’s Jeetendra Karki in added time of first-half gave the lead for MFC. Eventhough Army had the better game during the first half, it was Macchindra’s goalkeeper Dinesh Thapa who denied any NAC’s goal scoring opportunity.

The game was in the control of NAC in the second half as well. With few counter attacks by the Macchindra’s players kept Army defenders on toes. It was a great one-on-one save against MFC’s Bishal Rai ‘A’ by Army glovesman Ganga Ram Deuja to keep the score in 1 – 0. The Army men’s attack finally paid them as they hit the equalizer on the second minutes of the added time in the second-half. Nawa Yug Shrestha scored the equalizer as he was left unmark at the far post, where he coolly headed it towards goal to the dismay of MFC’s defenders who thought he should have been off-side. Due to incessant protest by MFC’s Captain Deepak Rai, he received the marching orders after he was shown a second yellow for bad decent.

Nepal Army Club Assistant Coach Babu Kaji Dhaubanjar:

“Bharat Khawas missed a number of chances to give us lead that’s why we had to settle for a draw in the end. Our game is improving in every game. But, we are out of the title race. I’m very happy with the boy’s performance in this game than the previous games in Super League”

Macchindra FC Coach Raju Kaji Shakya:

“We played okay as Army’s team is a physically competent team. We tried to play tactically with short passes and quick interchange but we missed a number of passes that caused us to lose the two points in the end. Also, Bishal Rai ‘A’ is currently playing with an injured knee. But, today’s dismissal of Captain Deepak Rai will be more costly in the title race.”
