MMC closes the gap on league leaders Three Star to Six points
MMC showed their prowess against a weak RCT team. They started from strength to strength from start with their No 99 Fils Sergio spear heading the attack. RCT’s Goalkeeper Prem Tamang was called upon numerous time to keep the score sheet in balance. It was heading towards a goalless first half, but a foolish mistake by the RCT goalkeeper by fumbling the ball in the goal line. MMC’s no 99 was on line to toe poke the goal to put MMC ahead just seconds before the referee blew the first half whistle.
Second half was no different story. MMC took charge of the game. And, it took 69th minute for Shiva Shrestha to score MMC’s second goal. The RCT’s defence line couldn’t clear the goal from a set-piece and Shiva Shrestha was just inside D-box to hit the ball to the roof of the net. After conceding the second goal RCT never came back into the game.
RCT’s coach Madhu Karki was unhappy with the player’s passion to play the game. He told, “We have had just a week’s preparation for the Super Leauge, which is why his boys couldn’t match the physical side of the game. Amar Dongol also didn’t have a resounding game according to his qualities”.
MMC’s coach Chiring Lopsang taking the helm after Krishna Thapa quit over personal dissatisfaction over his performances was elated with the victory. He said,”I have made some tactical changes and the lads adjust well to it. Because of this, my boys had created a host of chances but 2 – 0 margin is a satisfactory result. We are now targeting the first place and hoping for Three Star to slip”
