A Division Super League 2069: Friends Club thwart Nepal Army Clubs chance to close the gap with the league leaders with an close 2-1 win

tac vs friends18In what was a perfect chance to capitalize on the slip by league leaders Three Star’s loss, Nepal Army Club failed to close the gap as they lost 2 – 1 against a spirited Friends Club.

The game started with a good pace, but as the tempo started to kick in both sides missed a numerous opportunity to take the lead. But, with a swift play on the right wing and a beautiful cross made it 1 – 0 for Friends Club when Prakash Budathoki headed in the first goal of the match. The header was a perfect poacher’s goal as the Nepal Army Goalkeeper just only could stare the ball hitting the back of the net.

 

With 1 – 0 down, Nepal Army Club player’s launched attack which made the Friends Club defence in a hapless situation. Bharat Khawas coolly placed the ball into the top corner when he found himself unmarked inside the D-area. The 1-1 score line was a fair result until the half-time.

Second half was no different, as Nepal Army took charge of the match. They were in foothold of the match for numerous times. But, as luck was on Friends side a beautiful skill boating by Friends No. 3 Zikahe Leonce Dodoz made it 2 – 1. He skipped past challenges of three Army players before coolly dislodging the ball with his left-foot into the top corner. Nepal Army Goalkeepeer was looking helpless as the defenders couldn’t pick up the run by the Friends No.3.

In the dying moment Nepal Army’s player was fouled by Friends ‘s 23 No. Segun Petor, which result him being sent off, after he received a second yellow card. But, the man-advantage couldn’t help Nepal Army Club fight back into the game as the game came to an end soon after.
