Dharan FC introduces player of the year award

Dharan Football Club, the organizer of Budha Subba Gold Cup Football Tournament, has said that it will confer player of the year award to one footballer from Dharan each year starting from this year.

According to the club, a footballer shall be chosen for the award based on his contribution to the development of football. The player of the year shall be awarded Yamaha motorbike worth Rs 170,000 and a letter of appreciation, Kishor Rai, the president of the club said.

According to Rai, the award will be given each year on the occasion of Budhasubba Gold Cup Tournament.

"The aim of instituting this award is to encourage talented footballers and make football more professional," Rai said.

Budhasubba is scheduled to be held from April 19-27.
